Anthropology of Work Review
The Anthropology of Work Review is the publication of the Society for the Anthropology of Work, which is a section of the American Anthropological Association. The goal of the journal is to publish research that will facilitate exchanges between those engaged in the study of all dimensions of human work. Articles and photo essays are welcomed from those working inside and outside academic contexts, from all nations and from all subfields and areas of specialty within anthropology. Theoretical and methodological discussions of the study of work and its contexts are encouraged, including interdisciplinary, collaborative, and student submissions.
Information for Authors
Articles submitted for peer review for publication in the Anthropology of Work Review may be sent at any time during the year. Please follow the following guidelines when submitting manuscripts for review:
1) Manuscripts and supporting materials should be submitted electronically to the editor at email@example.com
2) Manuscripts should be blinded with all identifying information removed prior to submission.
3) Manuscripts should be no more than 8,000 words, including references. They should be double-spaced in a 12-point font and formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style guidelines for hyphenation, capitalization, punctuation, abbreviations, grammar, and general style guidelines. The format for citations used in the Anthropology of Work Review varies from Chicago as detailed in the AWR Style Guide.
4) Please send, as a separate attachment, a one-paragraph abstract for the article with at least 5 keywords describing the content of your manuscript for indexing in search engines. The keywords should be provided in brackets at the end of the abstract. [agricultural workers, immigration, criminalization, etc.]
5) Please include a list of three possible reviewers.
6) All book review and visual review inquiries and manuscripts should be directed to the AWR Reviews Editor, Samuel Weeks (firstname.lastname@example.org).Book reviews should not exceed 1,000 words, and review essays should not exceed 3,000 words.
7) There is also a section in the journal called Scenes at Work that includes photographs and photographic essays. Photographs of and/or by workers should be submitted electronically in a high-resolution file and the person submitting photographic material will need to provide proof that those photographed have given specific permission to have their image(s) reproduced in the Anthropology of Work Review.
8) It is increasingly important for authors to ensure that their articles are optimized for online searches and reading. Please ensure that your title is short and descriptive (rather than figurative) and that your keywords are accurate.
If your paper is accepted, the author identified as the formal corresponding author for the paper will receive an email prompting them to login into Author Services; where via the Wiley Author Licensing Service (WALS) they will be able to complete the license agreement on behalf of all authors on the paper. If the OnlineOpen option is not selected the corresponding author will be presented with the journal's standard license agreement to sign.
Authors are permitted to self-archive the peer-reviewed (but not final) version of the Contribution on the Contributor’s personal website, in the Contributor’s company/institutional repository or archive, and in certain not for profit subject-based repositories such as PubMed Central as listed at the following website: http://olabout.wiley.com/WileyCDA/Section/id-820227.html

The Contributor may not update the accepted version or replace it with the published Contribution.
